Kirkcudbright Summer Festivities are delighted to announce that the 2023 Food Festival will return for a one day food & music festival on Sunday 22nd October.
This year’s event will have more street food and tasty treats than ever before; and this year, the one day event will feature live music throughout.
The Kirkcudbright Food Festival is back for 2023 with a great line up of fantastic street food and great live music to enjoy! There will be a great range of street food to enjoy including hog roast, seafood, hot dogs, mac & cheese, bagels, venison burgers & sausages and a range of super sweets, cakes and bakes.
The event takes place of Sunday 22nd October from 11am – 7pm, with music from midday and is located in the Harbour Square and Moat Brae, in the centre of Kirkcudbright. There will be plenty of tables and seating so visitors are encouraged to come along for the great food and stay to listen to a range of live music throughout the afternoon and until 7pm.
The live music on offer includes a range of genres and a great mix of local artists and those from a little further afield. Freya Cloy, a talented young singer/songwriter from Dumfries, kicks off the music for the day at midday with her stunning voice.
Multi-award nominated, firm Kirkcudbright favourite Kissing the Flint is up next with rockabilly covers and originals, followed by Glasgow based, French/Angolan artist singer and banjo/guitar player Agha Ozhor. Next up are Rhelm, a talented group of high school students who play a combination of rock covers and their own music.
Following on, Kate Kyle is a talented songwriter who has been shortlisted for the prestigious BBC Radio Scotland Songwriter award, followed by Dumfries based Pedro and The Pirates with some epic guitars and classics. Our headliners for the evening at the fantastic The Cherry Pinks with their trip hop, country rock style.
In addition to a range of food stalls covering everything from sticky toffee pudding to seafood, preserves to pies and cheese to chocolate, we’ll have loads of great hot food and drink you can enjoy whilst sitting in the seating areas provided. There will be street food from Triko’s Deli, offering delicious bagels, Disco Pig and their loaded pulled pork rolls, Brigston and Co will be serving hot dogs and loaded fries. There will be fresh seafood from Skippers Scran Van, fresh venison burgers and sausages from Just Venison and delicious mac and cheese from The Stockbridge Mac & Cheese Co.
There will be a range of drinks options to enjoy on site or take home, including gin & tonic’s from Dark Art Distillery and gin cocktails from Crafty Distillery, Award winning ales from Sulwath Brewery, Rums from Ninefold Distillers, Ciders from Steilhead Cider and draught beer from Five Kingdoms Brewery, with teas and coffees from The Talking Horse.
Whilst this year’s event is a little different, it promises to be a great day out for all the family and Kirkcudbright Summer Festivities welcome visitors to come along and enjoy a great selection of local street food and providers as well as some fantastic music and children’s games.
