Following a recruitment process involving Dumfries and Galloway Council, the Integration Joint Board, and the NHS Dumfries and Galloway Board, Nicole Hamlet has been appointed to the role of interim chief officer of the Integration Joint Board and Dumfries and Galloway Health and Social Care Partnership with effect from 1 April 2024. She will also take up the role of interim chief operating officer for NHS Dumfries and Galloway on the same date.
Nicole was previously deputy chief officer of the Partnership and deputy chief operating officer of NHS Dumfries and Galloway. She takes over both her new roles from Julie White, who was named earlier this year as the new chief executive of NHS Dumfries and Galloway.

She brings a wealth of experience across NHS and the HSCP and will continue to work with our staff, our communities, and our partner organisations to deliver the ambitions of the Integration Joint Board.”

Chair of the Integration Joint Board Andy McFarlane said: “I’m very pleased with the news that Nicole Hamlet will be taking over from Julie White as interim Partnership chief officer. This is a very demanding role, covering a large and complex portfolio. The IJB is facing many challenges, and we can only succeed if all our partners work closely together. I’m looking forward to working with Nicole and the partners to make this happen.”
Nicole Hamlet joined the NHS in 2004, and worked as general manager – acute and diagnostics before moving to the position of deputy chief operating officer in 2019.
