With a heavy heart, The Frothy Bike Co. announces the closure of its cafe operation, effective 7th April, 2024.
This difficult decision comes after nearly five years of serving the Dumfries community with delicious coffee, wholesome food, and a welcoming atmosphere for cyclists and all.
“The cafe simply wasn’t able to cover its costs,” explains owner Ross Anderson. “Despite putting a significant amount of personal effort, including offshore work to raise funds, the financial situation became untenable.”
The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic played a significant role. While the cafe enjoyed pre-pandemic success, the bustling trade never fully recovered.
“We are incredibly grateful to our loyal customers who have supported us over the years,” Ross continues. “We also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our dedicated staff, both past and present, who helped make The Frothy Bike Co. cafe a special place for our community.”
The good news for cyclists is that The Frothy Bike Co. remains committed to serving the cycling community. The bike department will continue to trade on site until a smaller, more suitable premises can be found. This means business as usual for bike sales, repairs, and servicing.
