Moffat Mountain Rescue team Called Out To Find Lost Walker

At 2.11pm on Sunday 30th June Police Scotland asked Moffat Mountain Rescue Team to assist in the search for a walker who had become separated from their party on Culter Fell near Biggar.

10 members of Moffat MRT responded to the Callout making their way to Coulter. Police Scotland used ‘Phone Find’ technology to locate the lost walker who had dialled 999 when they realised they could not find their way.

Moffat MRT were then able to send team members to their location with the team VW, which was near Moss Law almost a mile south of Culter Fell summit. With the assistance of a local gamekeeper the team located the walker, assessed their condition and brought them back to Coulter village.

Other team members made their way to the walker’s car where they met the rest of their party arriving back at that location.

The team was stood down at 16:15.
