With summer safaris, stunning seabirds and exotic-looking orchids, RSPB Scotland has organised a range of exciting events this summer to help you explore nature – much of it closer to home than you’d think.
Whether travelling from home or on a staycation, you’ll find sites across the country, including Mersehead, showcasing some of Scotland’s best and often rarest species. Many RSPB Scotland nature reserves have events designed to help everyone find their ideal nature adventure; from family days out to trips with friends or just fun activities to enjoy outdoors.
Events include:
- A nocturnal exploration of Mersehead, with special infra-red cameras and bat detectors.
- A wander through wildflower meadows on the banks of Loch Lomond.
- Wildlife photography workshops at Lochwinnoch.
- An open-air performance of Shakespeare’s “The Tempest” at Loch Leven.
- Hire a replica of the iconic Operation Osprey hide at Loch Garten and look out for these magnificent birds along with other species such as Red Squirrels.
