Dumfries and Galloway Citizens Advice Service (D&G CAS) would like to congratulate Ciara McQuarrie in successfully completing her Modern Apprenticeship and achieving an SVQ level 6 in Business and Administration, with the help and support of Lowland Training, Anne Clark and Kellie McCulloch.
Ciara joined D&GCAS in August 2023 as our first ever Modern Apprentice and has worked hard throughout the year to achieve her qualification. In achieving this qualification, Ciara has gained a tremendous amount of understanding of business management theory, which she can now go on to apply practically, supporting the day-to-day running of D&G CAS, as well as improving her confidence.
Ciara said of her opportunity, “I am extremely grateful that D&G CAS provided me with the opportunity to further my education in such an amazing environment. D&G CAS have provided me with so much knowledge, which will support me throughout both my working life and personal life. Apprenticeships are such an amazing way to learn whilst earning and Lowland Training were nothing but supportive throughout the whole process. I wouldn’t have been able to complete my studies without the support of the D&G CAS volunteers and staff, so just a big thank you!”
Martin Bertram, D&G CAS Office Manager explained, “We have seen Ciara flourish in the workplace to become a very capable member of staff. She has applied herself well to her studies and managed to qualify earlier than expected. D&G CAS is committed to giving young people opportunities to develop skills and confidence though work experience, volunteering and in Ciara’s case, a worthwhile modern apprenticeship, to enable her to take a step toward achieving their career goals.”
D&G CAS has volunteering and work experience opportunities across the region and will be looking to provide opportunities for others to take on modern apprenticeships, when funding becomes available.
