32 Year Old Man Killed In Tragic A75 Crash This Morning

Road Policing officers are appealing for information following a fatal crash on the A75 near to Springholm, Castle Douglas.

The incident took place around 1.15am on Friday, 20 September, 2024 and involved a silver Ford Mondeo and white Scania HGV.

The driver of the Mondeo, a 32-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Scania HGV, a 57-year-old man was taken to Galloway Royal Infirmary as a precaution.

The road is currently closed to allow for investigation to take place and expected to remain closed until this evening.

Sergeant Chris McColm said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died at this very difficult time.
“We are appealing to anyone who may have seen what happened to get in touch. Likewise, if you have dash-cam footage that could assist with our investigation then make contact with officers.”
