Do trees have a story to tell? Come down to Kirkcudbright’s Barrhill woods this half term and hear what they have to say. These fun and free 10am-12.30pm sessions on 14th and 15th October are designed for 6-12 year olds and include games, storytelling and crafting – all while learning about the magic of trees.
The events are led by artist & maker Kirsty Harris and form part of the Dumfries & Galloway Woodlands half term activities programme. Kirsty said:
“Did you know there are stories hidden in the trees? Come down to Barrhill woods this half term and hear what they have to say. You will have fun and create your own tales too!
These sessions are for children and families to get creative and crafty in the woods whilst learning about the magic of trees. There will be games, making and storytelling – plus you will learn how to become a Tree Whisperer!”

The events are being backed by Dumfries & Galloway Woodlands, a new initiative seeking to support trees, habitats and the people that depend upon them across the region – with funding from a range of partners including The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
