Kirkcaldy, Scotland – Saturday marked a momentous occasion for Dumfries and Galloway athlete Andy McCulloch, who claimed victory at the Masters Strongman Championship held at Apex Gym.

Andy’s journey in strength sports has been nothing short of extraordinary over the past 13 years and 2024 has proven to be his busiest yet, but also the most successful year of competition to date. His achievements this year include:

 

– **1st Place** at the Masters Strongman Championship

-3rd Place in the U105kg Scotlands Strongest man category

3rd Place in the U120kg Scotlands Strongest Man category

4th Place in the Opens Qualifier Scotlands strongest man

-**6th Place** in the Opens Final Scotlands Strongest man

– Winner of the Truck Pull at the Opens Final

– **10th Place** in the Strongest Man U120 in Great Britain

– A remarkable performance in Iceland at the Fullsterkur Husafel Stone Carry, completing over one lap of the sheep pen.

 

“This year has been a whirlwind of competition, and I couldn’t be happier with my performances,” Andy expressed after his victory. “Winning the Masters title is a dream come true!” Each competition this year has pushed me to my limits and has taught me so much about my capabilities.”

 

Under the expert guidance of coach 3dstrength for the second consecutive year, Andy has honed his skills and strategies, leading to his outstanding results. His commitment to training and improvement has paid off, and he expresses immense gratitude for the support he has received along the way. Andy trains with the team at Burns Gym in Dumfries.
