Injured Walker Taken To Hospital After Bennan and Benyellary Rescue

On November 3rd, 2023, at 17:40 hours, Galloway Mountain Rescue Team were deployed by Police Scotland to provide assistance to an injured walker with a lower leg injury. The individual was situated between summits of Bennan and Benyellary.
In response to the callout, thirteen team members promptly mobilized. A hasty team swiftly proceeded to the casualty’s location, where our Remote Rescue Medical Technicians conducted a thorough assessment and administered appropriate medical treatment. Concurrently, the remaining team members came up the hill to the location carrying essential equipment.
To alleviate the casualty’s pain, pain medication was administered, and the injury was effectively immobilized with a splint. The casualty was carefully packaged and placed into a stretcher, and safely transported off the hill to our team vehicle.
The casualty was then transported to Galloway Community Hospital in Stranraer.
