Dumfries Devorgilla Rotary Club are thrilled to be opening once again a Charity Pop – Up Shop this November in the Loreburne Centre, Dumfries.
The Shop will be open from 20th to 23rd November and is located in the former BrightHouse store. Customers will be able to purchase a range of pre-loved items on offer, including electrical goods and bric-a-brac, with the chance to purchase some real bargains that you can no longer get on the High Street.
The shop will be entirely manned by volunteers from Devorgilla Rotary and will be the fith year the Pop – Up Shop has been open. It originally opened in November 2020 following the Covid pandemic, as a way to encourage shopping locally. Devorgilla President Bob Carruthers said:
“We are really excited to open the shop which is a major fundraiser for charities that the club supports. We are really grateful for the assistance of the Michael O’Hagan of the Loreburne Centre and his staff who make this event so easy to run. In previous years an amazing £17,000 has been raised with a range of local charities benefiting from funds raised. We are therefore delighted to have been given this opportunity by the Loreburne Centre in a prime location and hope we can support good causes including Freddie’s Sunshine as selected by the Loreburne Centre”.
The Charity Pop – Shop will be set up from the 19th November and donations for items for sale will be gratefully received at the shop. There will also be a Tombola with great prizes on offer every day.
