Queen of the South Ladies were knocked out of the Scottish Cup on Sunday by Glasgow Women FC.
Despite taking an early lead through Jo Gallagher, playing as a striker rather than in her usual midfield role, Queens then conceded four goals to their Championship opponents. Queens have been handicapped recently by injuries, which meant the appearance of a new central defensive pairing of Maisie Copland and Kirsty Macdonald. Queens were always going to be up against it playing a team from the division above, but nevertheless it was disappointing to miss out on the chance to take on teams from the top two divisions in the later rounds.
This Sunday it’s a return to League One duties with an away game against Airdrie Ladies. Kick off on Sunday is pencilled in for 1345 at Airdrie Leisure Centre and it is hoped that some of the injured players will be ready to return to action.
