DAVID COULTHARDS SON TO FOLLOW IN FATHERS FOOTSTEPS

The 16 year old son of Dumfries and Galloway F1 motorsport star David Coulthard, from Twynholm, is to follow in his fathers footsteps and race single seat race cars.
Douglas motorsports announced that Dayton Coulthard will be joining Douglas Motorsport for the forthcoming GB4 season! The seaon kicks on April 5th at Donington Park
Dayton will be wearing the Scottish Saltire on his helmet in honor of his father.
This will be Dayton’s first season in single-seater racing. The 16-year-old began karting in 2019 and progressed through the ranks, starting with Cadets, before moving through Junior and Senior X30 in the British Kart Championship. Dayton concluded his 2024 karting season by winning the WM plate at Whilton Mill.

It will be both Dayton’s and Douglas Motorsport’s first season in the GB4 Championship, which includes seven rounds from April through to October. The Northamptonshire-based team is entering GB4 for the first time this year with the new Tatuus MSV GB4-025 car, following multiple race-winning campaigns in GB3.

Dayton plans to maximise every opportunity this season, as he continues to learn, develop and hone his promising race craft.

Dayton Coulthard said: “I’m looking forward to working with Douglas Motorsport for the 2025 GB4 season. Moving into cars means I’ll have plenty to learn and I believe that the team can definitely help with my development.”

Wayne Douglas, Douglas Motorsport Team Principal: “We’re extremely excited to be working with Dayton as he prepares for his first races in single-seaters. He’s shown lots of promise so far with good progression, and we look forward to working with him to develop that talent as the season progresses. The jump from karting to single-seaters is a big one, but one that Dayton is ready for, and we’re hopeful of ever stronger results as he gains further experience.”
