ATTACK ON FEMALE – ANNAN
Police Scotland want to trace the following man in relation to an attack on a 19 year old Annan woman as she walked in Springbells Road in Annan. At around 1730 hours on Monday 16 March 2015 the woman was walking alone, in broad daylight, in Springbells Road in the town when, as she neared Eden Place, she was confronted by the following described man who took hold of her and attempted to pull her along the road. The woman struggled free and pushed the man over before fleeing from the scene.
The attacker is described as being between 18 and 20 years of age, about 5’8″ tall, had a yellowish skin tone, short brown shaven hair, and may have had a large mole or birthmark near to his mouth. He was wearing black jogging bottoms, a black zipped jogging top with a hood and a red pull cord and grey high top trainers with velcro straps. The man spoke with a Polish accent and also at one point was seen shouting in Polish to another man, not further described, further down the street.
Sergeant Steven Wilson, Police Scotland Community Policing Unit in Annan said “this is a very rare occurrence to have happened in broad daylight in what is a busy residential street in Annan. We are keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the area to get in touch if they can help us trace this man. Thankfully the female who was attacked was not physically injured however she did receive quite a shock at this mans actions. Anyone who can help should give us a call on 101.”
