To celebrate ten years of trading, local dance school Body Electric Dance Studio hosted what was to be the largest and one of their most successful dance shows on Saturday 6th June. Held at the Easterbrook Hall, children in their hundreds took to the stage and wowed an audience of over 400.
Proprietor Louise McVie states: ‘This show was on another level and like nothing we have ever attempted before. We brought together our entire school making this show the largest we have ever hosted. It was well worth the months of hard work and I am so very proud of our kids and also of my wonderful instructor Christine Wishart who only joined us in August last year’
Children as young as three years old took to a stage with a room filled with a very receptive audience. Performing with BEDS for the last time senior leavers gave heart felt performances leaving younger dancers inspired. After the audience were wowed with a variety of Pop, Street, Hip Hop and Contemporary dance the evening was concluded with the schools annual finale, ‘Believe’. At this point both dancers and audience were given a special surprise when both instructors joined them in their performance to ensure ten-year celebrations were not forgotten.
Louise comments: ‘Reaching ten years has been very overwhelming and I had to ensure this show was not forgotten. We knew the kids would love to dance along side us and so kept it as a special surprise, which everyone seemed to love. I can’t put into words what an amazing night we had and feedback has been nothing but positive. I am so very proud to be working with such fabulous kids who truly love to dance.’
The Ultimate Dance Show 2015 was most definitely a huge success. After such wonderful feedback, this may have been the first of many to come.
