Steve commented when being told about winning – “Being told I had won the Wickersnapper competition was totally unexpected, I am a huge fan of the Wickerman Festival and was about to purchase my ticket when I got the news! I am a bonafide amateur hobbyist photographer, so this is a fantastic opportunity for me to show the world the inside view of the festival- from the bands to the fans and more. I’m over the moon and can’t wait for the weekend to begin.”
DGWGO’s RB Was one of the panel of judges, RB said ” This is my third year judging for the Wickerman’s, Wickersnapper competition. It gets tougher and tougher every year, this years quality of entries was exceptional, and with the huge amount of people that entered, it just goes to show the popularity and accessibility of digital photography is growing and growing. It’s a new dawn for photography as the cost is getting less and less and more and more people can afford camera’s. But it’s not the equipment that makes a good photo, all of us that judged this years entries were all looking for something original, somebody with a great eye, It’s not easy to find a new twist on festival photography, but I think Steve will give it a great shot, and really enjoy his experience in the pit. ”
