With the Electric Fields festival just under three weeks away the Electric Fields team are on the final stretch, putting the finishing touches on what’s sure to be another awesome day of live music, set within the beautiful Castle grounds.
This year’s line-up boasts over forty names performing across five stages including Mercury Prize and Scottish Album of the Year nominee King Creosote as headliner. Electric Fields aims to show-case the most exciting, fresh and relevant music on the scene today at a ticket price that doesn’t exclude any music fans.
The Festival is being fully supported by the Council and has received funding of £10,000 from the Local Authority’s Major Events Strategic Fund.
Councillor Colin Smyth, the Council’s Events Champion said;
“Electric Fields has a real opportunity to grow into yet another successful and nationally significant music festival for our region. Electric Fields drew music fans into Dumfries and Galloway in 2014 when it relocated to Drumlanrig, and its lineup this year is dynamic and exciting. The Council is confident in the Festival’s growth prospects and ability to attract tourists to the region, which is why we are pleased to provide funding support this year.”

We are delighted to welcome one of Scotland’s best loved brewers, Innis & Gunn, on board as beer sponsors, and we’re also delighted to say bar prices will be the same as 2014 at £3.50 per drink. Innis & Gunn said;
”We’re excited to be sponsoring Electric Fields. Up-and-coming music talent is extremely im-portant to us, therefore to support a Scottish festival makes us very proud.”
Media Partners come in the form of Scotland’s largest online music platform; Tenement TV, indie, rock and alternative radio station Xfm and Scotland’s culture bible, The Skinny, who will be curating their very own stage.
XFM Scotland’s Drivetime presenter Jim Gellatly said:
“The inaugural Electric Fields last year was an amazing experience in a brilliant setting. It was fan-tastic to see so many emerging Scottish bands fill a festival bill. The booking policy is second to none, and it’s the perfect fit for XFM in supporting the incredible new music coming out of Scot-land at the moment. I can’t wait to return to Drumlanrig Castle!”
