Fatal fire – Lochmaben
Emergency services were called to a fire in a car at the caravan site at Hallheaths at Lochmaben at around 1025 hours on Monday 17 August 2015.
On arrival the body of a man was found and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The man has been identified as 73 year old George Smith from Kintail Park in Lockerbie. Inspector Graham Kerr of Police Scotland said “a joint fire investigation has taken place between Police Scotland the Fire and Rescue Service and there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding this death. The Procurator Fiscal has been informed of the circumstances.”
