Dumfries and Galloway Library Service is delighted to welcome back ex-comic, Fair Trade importer and former work colleague Eileen Kay. She returns for a book tour of local branches with her latest book Noodle Trails: A travel memoir.
Noodle Trails is a true story of Fair Trade, Dung Trade and Travels in Thailand and beyond. When Eileen loses nearly everything she goes wandering in search of solace, mangoes, and food for the soul. Noodle Trails contains edible insects, tough questions, sarcasm, ambushes of poignancy, and an awful lot of elephant dung.
Author Gillian Fraser says “Eileen has a great way of making the characters she meets along the way seem very real, so the reader ends up caring about them almost as much as she does. Eileen’s a great fan of Thai food – but that’s all you would guess! I’m looking forward to the sequel.”
