Bella and the Bear, formed by Stuart Ramage from Castle Douglas and Lauren Gilmour, have won the award for ‘ Best Newcomer’ in the Scottish Alternative Music Awards 2015 Held last night at ‘The Garage’ Glasgow.
The duo who formed in 2014, are in their second year studying ‘commercial music’ at the University of the West of Scotland in Ayr . Their music has a traditional acoustic sound is restored with rhythmic and percussive guitar playing, blending two-part harmony and an inherent flare for story-telling.
Stuart and Lauren told DGWGO Music News “We would like to thank everyone who voted for us, and thanks to DGWGO for the support! We are both over the moon with our award.”
