POLICE INVESTIGATE DEATH OF £5000 WORTH OF TROPICAL FISH

Fish killed – Dumfries

Police Scotland officers in Dumfries are investigating an act of vandalism which saw two fish tanks containing tropical fish vandalised resulting in the death of all the fish. Sometime on the evening of Saturday 24 October 2015 a house in Ashton Drive in Dumfries was entered and two fish tanks were contaminated by what appears to be washing up liquid. As a result all the fish in the tanks have died and the tanks and associated equipment are affected and will require to be replaced. The value of the damage is estimated to be around £5000. A television and a phone were also damaged in this incident.

Constable Lyndsey Nicolson at Dumfries said “this is an awful case of wanton vandalism which has sadly cost the lives of a number of tropical fish. We want to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the Ashton Drive area of Dumfries on Saturday evening. We can be contacted at Dumfries through the 101 number.
