A fine array of fresh Scottish produce including products from local Dalbeattie based Roan’s Dairy will form NFU Scotland’s Annual Dinner, taking place at St Andrews on Thursday 11 February.
The fantastic menu boasts produce from across the country, from lamb and potatoes for the starter, to beef fillet and cheeks for the main course, and ice cream, ginger and beetroot for the dessert; accompanied by chocolate, cheeses and oatcakes to round off the tasty fare.
Diageo – a global leader in beverage alcohol with an impressive collection of brands across spirits, beer and wine – is the pre-dinner drinks reception sponsor for the event once again.
NFU Scotland President Allan Bowie commented: “This dinner offers us the chance to reflect and savour the great food that Scottish farming delivers day in and day out and allows us all to take a bit of time out to appreciate the fantastic results of these endeavours.
“I am particularly grateful to the companies throughout Scotland who have sponsored or supplied the produce for this year’s dinner. I know that Scottish farming takes great pride in what we grow and, to have a stronger food and drink industry that same passion has to go all the way to the table or shelf. This menu reflects exactly that.
“I am very much aware that consumers, here and abroad, recognise and value the provenance and quality of the food we produce here in Scotland and I will continue to champion this cause.”
