SLICK MOVE AT TRENT VALLEY FOR 9 YEAR OLD DUMFRIES KARTING STAR

9 year old Heathhall Primary pupil Kieran was back racing at the weekend traveling back to Trent Valley Kart Club (TVKC) in Lincolnshire.

Round 2 of the winter series attracted a huge grid of 55 karts. After a good qualifying session Kieran and Dad Steven arrived at the grid with slicks on the kart and spits of rain starting to fall. They had to make a quick decision with the grid split 50/50 between wets and slicks. Unfortunately slicks weren’t the way to go and dropping points meant he qualified for the B-final in 11th place.

A great launch of the line the B-final saw Kieran pull off a daring move round the Litchfield loop passing 6 karts on the one corner. After the first few laps Kieran sat in 4th place which was enough to secure a place in the A final but his shear pace seen him take the lead and stretch a gap. Kieran said “it was such an amazing feeling to cross the line 1st at such a challenging track. This gave me a ticket to the A-final and I managed to make up 10 places taking my best result ever at PF”

Kieran is now sitting joint 19th in the winter series out of 55 which he is very proud of, having only been to the circuit twice and competing against the some of the best drivers in the UK, some of whom are 3 years older than him.

Kieran would like to thank his family, Andy of Clan racing and Building Craftsmen for their support.
