Scotland’s Biggest Little Festival is back ! . Now in its 4th Year Thornhill Music Festival will once again have the ducal village rocking over the May Holiday Weekend (29th April to May 1st).
Big Fat PandaThis years festival is headlined by a gentleman who is one of the stars of the British blues scene DANNY BRYANT , Danny is a fixture on the British and European blues scene and is admired by many of his peers . Joe Bonamassa – “A fantastic guitar player… able to take a Fender Stratocaster and really make it sing…” Walter Trout – “What sets him apart is his passion and feeling. Danny’s playing grabs you with its intensity and urgency.” He has just released his new album BLOOD MONEY to critical acclaim it features special guest appearances from Walter Trout and Whitsnake legend Bernie Marsden.
This years festival also features the usual great mix of live acts both local and further afield . Among the local acts appearing are BARSTOW BATS(Main Photo) , THE MARY BARCLAY BAND , THE STEFAN , REDFISH and Thornhill’s own BAD REPUTATION . Ska always has a big following at Thornhill with THE SKABABS and BIG FAT PANDA carrying the banner supported by the Dumfries Easy Skanin Crew.
Thornhill will also welcome this year from Northern Ireland RUSTY JACKS , THIRTEEN STARS from Cumbria and the Q Jumpers from the North East of England , also returning and fresh from their appearence on BBC’s Britains Best Part Time Band GT’s BOOS BAND from Stirling . We also welcome back THE JOHN BEATTIE BAND fronted by former British Lion and Scotland rugby legend John Beattie Blues is always well represented as always at Thornhill with GERRY JABLONSKI & THE ELECTRIC BAND , THE BRIAN ROWSON BAND , THE ALEX FAWCETT BAND AND LOL GOODMAN BAND and of course THE LEWIS HAMILTON BAND .
The Acoustic line up at Thomas Tosh this year features 3 terrific acts , Doonhamer Maxy Hogg , Lady Miss Emma and Colin Miller . The acoustic night is always well received and draws great audiences to the relaxed atmophere at Thomas Tosh . New to the 2016 Festival is TMF “Introduces” hosted by Robert Maitland in Thomas Tosh on Sunday May 1st . Robert has brought together what is hoped will be the next generation of musical talent ranging from 11 to 18 years old . The festival lloks forward to this will becoming a regular showcase for young performers locally .
