In 2015 the team at the Crichton recognised the potential of Easterbrook Hall as an ideal venue to host world-class entertainment. On Sunday the 10th of April a sell out crowd gathered at Easterbrook Hall,Dumfries for the launch of Easterbrook Live and a fantastic Live show ‘A NIGHT OF DIRTY DANCING – THE ULTIMATE TRIBUTE SHOW!’ No film has captured the hearts of a generation like Dirty Dancing. and the audience relived the passion of the movie, indulged in the romance and celebrated the greatest movie soundtrack of all time during this fantastic live show brought to them by www.easytheatres.com
The Show was spectactular, Recast and re-scripted for 2016, it was all down to Kellerman’s end of season show. The audience reveled in the moments they had loved from the film, with the highly talented cast bringing back memories for many, with the songs and music that’s resonated throughout the years including all the hits from the movie : She’s Like the Wind, Big Girls Don’t Cry, Hey Baby, Wipeout, Do You Love Me, Be My Baby, Hungry Eyes and, of course, the Oscar-winning (I’ve Had) The Time of My Life. The Show was finished off with a standing ovation from the packed auditorium, who all seemed to be very happy with the whole experience at Easterbrook.

A spokes person for the team at Eastrbrook Live Told DGWGO entertainment news “By the end of the year our dedicated team was established to drive the ‘Easterbrook Live’ initiative.We reviewed the requirements to unlock Easterbrook Hall’s full potential as a live events venue. Following this review, we have carried out refurbishment of our main auditorium balcony – previously out of service for over 15 years. This has increased our capacity, allowing us to host a wide variety of high-profile acts. We have also increased our technical specification, this will encourage more touring performers to the region and ensure the highest quality experience for the audience.
We are not only interested in larger acts. Local and community artists and promoters are very important to us, this year we will be hosting Dumfries and Galloway Arts festivals opening opera among others. The flexibility of our venues allows for all manner of events, from intimate gigs to full-blown concerts.
We want to encourage the people of Dumfries and Galloway to enjoy what the Crichton has to offer; Stunning public grounds, exceptional food or world-class entertainment.”
