Dumfries and Galloway Council is now offering to remove gull eggs and nests from residential and commercial premises in Dumfries and Heathhall.
Gulls can lay eggs up to 3 times after their eggs have been removed so premises may need to be visited 4 times during the breeding season. The first nests will be removed in mid-May. The Council must have permission from the property owner before it can remove eggs and nests from a property.
You can report a gull nest to the Council online at www.dumgal.gov.uk by clicking on the ‘report it’ button .
You can report a gull nest by email to [email protected] or by phone 030 33 33 3000.
Please note that it is illegal to capture, injure, poison, shoot or kill gulls or to interfere with their eggs or nests without a licence from the government.
