MORE than 100 women from across Dumfries and Galloway joined together at Friar’s Carse in Dumfries once again for the 2nd annual West-sound Ladies Lunch on Sunday 1st May 2016.
The ladies were welcomed to the marquee in the grounds to the sound of Castle Douglas harpist Hazel Keith before the local Radio stations very own breakfast presenter Tommy Jardine got the afternoon underway.
After a 3 course meal, Lewis Irons took to the stage performing a set with music from the likes of Frank Sinatra to Justin Beiber.
Afternoon performances also included comic magician Chirs Dinwoodie aka Woody .
But it was local performers Single Malt that rounded off the afternoon on a high. Lead singer Grant Dinwoodie from Dumfries surprised ladies with his choice of clothes – or lack of. The band performed a mix of Scottish music and rock and roll which got all the women on their feet dancing.
Around £1,500 was also raised for Cash for Kids in a raffle with prizes ranging from Justin Bieber tickets, hair and beauty vouchers and an iPad mini.
Following its success, the date for the Ladies Lunch 2017 has already been set for the 30th of April 2017.
