Police Scotland Divisional Commander for Dumfries and Galloway, Gary Ritchie said he was “disappointed that some festival goers attending the Eden Festival at Raehills were ignoring the organiser’s stringent anti drugs policy after 28 people were caught in possession of illegal drugs on day one.
“ Chief Superintendent Ritchie added “our policing operation is fully in support of the organiser’s desire to maintain the character of the Eden Festival as a family friendly event and ensure everyone is kept safe. The organiser’s have stated clearly that there will be a zero tolerance approach when people are found in possession of controlled drugs yet on the first day of the festival we have charged 28 people with possession of drugs. Over the weekend we will continue to police the event fully in line with the festival’s policy and anyone foolish enough to attempt to come onto the site with illegal drugs will be dealt with accordingly. The message is quite clear: do not bring drugs to the Eden Festival.” |
