Local MSPs for the South of Scotland, Emma Harper and Joan McAlpine attended the Guid Nychburris celebrations together on Saturday, 18th June 2016.
The MSPs joined the crowds in Dumfries High Street to watch the crowning of the Queen of the South and also visited the Norwegian market, organised by the Stove to celebrate our links with Norway.
Commenting on the day, Emma said:
“Guid Nychburris is a brilliant day for the community to come together and take part in what is a great historic celebration for the town. We had fabulous weather which helped to bring out the crowds. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day. ”
Ms McAlpine added:
“It was fabulous to see the sun shining for Guid Nychburris this year and for so many people to be out in the town enjoying themselves.
“The floats and the entertainment were spectacular and I loved the Norwegian market organised by the Stove.”
