Local 10 Year old karting star – Kieran Conchie, who attends Heathhall primary in Dumfries, travelled to Wigan for the final round of the National NKF tour.
With the championship down to the wire, Kieran and 2 other drivers were in line to take the title, after heat one things were looking hopeful but some bad luck in the remaining 2 heats left him in a position where the outcome of the championship would depend on the others finishing positions.
Undeterred Kieran moved from 7th on the grid to lead for a good few laps finally finishing 3rd in the round and runner up in the Championship.
Kieran said “The NKF has been a great challenge and I have learned so much. As one of the youngest drivers in the championship I’m delighted to have been one of the top drivers and now we have to decide what to do next year”
with having won the Scottish championship in August Kieran is in line to become club champion at WSKC in Larkhall and CRKC in Rowrah. This will make him a triple champion in 2016 along with runner up in the National NKF Tour.
Kieran would like to thanks Andy of Clan Racing, Craigsview Caravan & Trailer Centre and Sporting Warriors for your support.
