1982 prime lambs sold to average 175.43ppk (SQQ 179.31ppk) All classes were a good trade with lean exports lambs selling again at a premium and short of requirements. Topping today was heavyweight Texels from Messrs Williamson & Ross, Breckoniehill at £90 and again for Beltex from Messrs Birrell, Barnboard, Balmaghie. Topping per kilo was a pen of outstanding Beltex from Messrs Craig, Compstonend, Twynholm at 211ppk.
272 Cast sheep would look sharper apart from light leaner Blackface ewes. They sold to a top of £99 for a Texel Ram from Slatehouse. Ewes topped at £88 for Suffolks from Castlehill. Blackface ewes to £55 from Fauld O’ Wheat.
