A Scottish dental practice has been selected from teams across the UK as the winner of a prestigious national award. Church Court Dental Practice in Dumfries scooped the title of ‘Winner of the schOlke Infection Prevention Team of the Year 2016’ which was presented in the ExCel London at the BDIA Dental Showcase 2016.
The prestigious UK wide competition attracted a huge number of entries, but the three expert judges were unanimous in declaring the Church Court team the 2016 winners, saying: ‘this was an excellent submission, with compelling examples of good practice provided throughout the entry. Strong evidence of continuous learning and improvement was demonstrated. The whole team has shown professionalism and dedication to reaching the highest standards of infection prevention. Church Court are worthy winners.’
The Award was presented at the BDIA Dental Showcase at ExCel, London. Mark Colwell, Adele Welsh, Lorraine Gibb and Catherine Colwell received the trophy and certificate on behalf of the Church Court Dental team. Competition judge, Professor Andrew Smith of the University of Glasgow Dental School made the presentation.
