LITTLE STOVE PRESENTS… Zoë Bestel

A stunningly beautiful voice that will grab you and take you to another world; Zoë Bestel graces Little Stove Presents…

This week we had the pleasure of welcoming Zoë to Little Stove Presents and she left an eerie silence in the room after performing one of the most haunting and melodious renditions of Massive Attack’s Teardrop that I have ever heard (and I include the original in that…)

After a quick ‘cuppa’ and some ‘chit chat’ we got settled down and began some quick sound checks. Straight from the word go you could tell that we were in for a treat and as we began recording Zoë did not disappoint. She decided to cover one of Massive Attack’s most popular and iconic songs – Teardrop. I am personally a big fan of the 80’s trip-hop band, so when I heard that this is what she was going to be covering I was even more excited than usual. As we started recording, it wasn’t only her voice that shone through but the relationship she had tailored between her vocals and ukulele. It brought you up and down and hit you with some mesmerizing tones that I hadn’t previously been aware could be produced by a human!

As with all the performances here at Little Stove Presents… we record both a cover and an original. This week will be no different. Later on in the week Zoë’s original song ‘Tail of the Sea’ will be up online for you all to see and hear. It will be a taster of what’s to come from Zoë Bestel this year as she is currently in the process of writing her second album. If this is anything to go by then this is going to be a very successful 2017.
