Nithsdale MP David Mundell was delighted to pay a visit to the EME Factory in Sanquhar, Dumfries and Galloway recently and praised the company for being a vital local employer.
Mr Mundell was shown round the factory by Gerard Toplass, CEO of EME’s owners British Thornton and General Manager David Morrill and heard about their plans to continue expanding their business.
During the visit, Mr Mundell was shown the process of production for EME’s range of products while he was also given a sneak prveiw of new items that the company are set to launch.
Commenting David Mundell MP said: “I was delighted to pay a visit to EME Factory in Sanquhar with the factory being absolutely vital for providing jobs and investment to the economy of Upper Nithsdale.
“It was great to hear that there are plans to continue to expand the business which will bring much needed opportunities for people living in this part of my constituency.
“It was interesting to see how their vast range of products are made and it was very clear that there is a highly skilled work force at EME delivering quality products for their customers.
“I hope to pay another visit again soon to see how the expansion of the site has helped provide more vital jobs for Upper Nithsdale.”
