Mundell Welcomes Pupils from Newington and Elmvale Primary School’s to Westminster

Dumfriesshire MP David Mundell was delighted to welcome pupils from Newington and Elmvale Primary Schools in Annan to Westminster.

The schools make an annual trip down to London and this ear saw 65 pupils between the two schools alongside four teachers welcomed by Mr Mundell at Westminster, before he headed for a Cabinet meeting.

After meeting Mr Mundell, the pupils were set to enjoy a tour of Parliament including the Palace of Westminster.

Commenting David Mundell MP said: “It is always one of my highlights as a MP to welcome local schools to Westminster and I was pleased to spend time with the pupils before I headed to Cabinet.

“The pupils at Newington and Elmvale are always enthusiastic and were excited to be heading to see the Houses of Parliament.

“These schools in Annan take the time to come down every year which is great and I’d always encourage visits from local schools to come and down and see how Westminster operates and I’d always be happy to welcome pupils and staff from local schools.

“I wish the pupils from Newington and Elmvale all the best in the rest of their trip in London.”
