An up and coming Dumfries and Galloway based textile business Puffin Patchworks based in Creetown, has been selected by Theo Paphitis as one of the UK’s top tweeters through his Small Business Sunday (#SBS) initiative.
The weekly competition is open to all small businesses across the UK and company owner Magghi Mclean is the fourth Dumfries & Galloway business person to be selected since it started, more than 8 years ago.
Theo Paphitis is best known for appearing on Dragons Den on BBC Two. He is Chairman of Ryman Stationery, Boux Avenue lingerie and Robert Dyas.
Small Business Sunday was started in 2010 to reward small businesses and encourage business networking. Each week Theo selects six small business winners based on the quality of their tweets, retweeting their business message to more than 400,000 of his followers, providing a massive boost to the chosen businesses.
Magghi from Puffinpatchworks was pleased, excited and proud to win this week on Small Business Sunday. This will mean more social media awareness of her business and an exclusive invite to the #SBS Winners Networking Event in Birmingham in 2019.
Magghi told DGWGO Business News:
“I can’t believe my business was chosen by Theo. I am ecstatic to have won. I have tried to embrace all forms of social media and it just shows that perseverance does work. I want everyone to know about the amazing textile heritage we have in Scotland”
“I spend most of my time designing and sewing in my workroom, so having the support of fellow makers and small businesses locally and via twitter means a lot to me.”
