DGHP and Wheatley hold successful partnership event

Around 200 people attended an event, held by Dumfries and Galloway Housing Partnership (DGHP) and Wheatley Group, aimed at promoting commercial opportunities across the region.

The event – for suppliers and subcontractors within Dumfries and Galloway – gave those attending the chance to meet the DGHP team and hear more about upcoming opportunities as a result of the newly-formed partnership with Wheatley Group.

The event, supported by the Supplier Development Programme (SDP), was held at The Bridge in Dumfries (Monday January 20) and saw people from all over come along to find out more about how DGHP, as part of Wheatley Group, plans to bring new homes, jobs and improved services to the region.

There were also sessions giving top tips for tendering and how to work with the public sector, giving those attending a broad overview of how to get involved with future opportunities.

The partnership is set to bring a series of benefits for tenants, customers and stakeholders including up to 1000 new-build homes, accelerated improvements in existing homes and the creation of up to 500 jobs.

Craig Bouse, DGHP’s Procurement Manager, said: “It was a great event, which was very well attended. Local contractors were really keen to get involved and it was good to build on existing relationships and establish new connections.”
