The East Wing is a luxurious retreat located on the doorstep of Drumlanrig Castle. Featuring two double bedrooms and a sofa bed in the downstairs living room, this elegant property comfortably accommodates up to six guests. Dogs are welcome, ensuring a perfect getaway for the whole family.
‘We felt really privileged to be able to stay a few days in the East Wing. The only letdown: we should have booked for at least a week!’ commented Mr Savery who stayed in September 2024 and gave the property full marks.
Laundry Cottage – 9.8/10
A charming semi-detached cottage within walking distance of Drumlanrig Castle, Laundry Cottage offers a large garden with a hot tub, private parking, and a cosy wood burner. This picturesque retreat sleeps up to six guests and two dogs.
‘This is a really comfortable place to stay and very well equipped. We loved the view from the garden and the peace. Most of the time, the car stayed put and we made good use of the walking and cycling trails. It was great to be able to go for a woodland stroll in the evening’, commented Ms Mellor who stayed in July 2024.
Mr Ehbel who stayed in August 2024 and gave the property a 5/5 review, commented, ‘Enjoyed two weeks in the Summer holidays in this cosy house in this beautiful location next to the castle. Lovely walks and bike rides with the dogs in the surroundings and the castle garden. Fished in the river (and caught a trout 😉) and thoroughly enjoyed the relaxed surroundings and extremely friendly people. The tour of the castle was very interesting and the annual Country Fair a welcome addition. We and our children had a super experience and look back on a wonderful holiday’.

‘The cottage exceeded all our expectations, it seems that it was completely refurbished very recently, all fixtures and fittings are as new. The outdoor hot tub added excitement and fun to our stay, and the fireplace filled the cottage with an unforgettable aroma’, commented Mr Shuker, who stayed in January 2025 who gave the cottage full marks.
Stableyard Apartment – 9.3/10

On the wider estate, just 10 minutes’ drive from Drumlanrig Castle, Dabton House is a luxurious exclusive-use venue which opened in 2023.
