A CARE home at Bridge of Dee near Castle Douglas, Dumfries and Galloway is set to close – due to issues around its sustainability.
Residents at Dunjop, their families and staff were informed yesterday by operators Downing Care Ltd that the home will close within the next three months.
Dumfries and Galloway Health and Social Care was also informed of the decision yesterday, and General Manager Community Health and Social Care Graham Abrines said: “Our priority is now the welfare of the 11 residents who will be affected.
“Capacity exists within the care home sector to accommodate all residents.
“We will now work closely with Downing Care Ltd to ensure that alternative provision is in place for residents affected by the closure.
“We are aware of the effect this will have on residents and their families and the health and social care partnership will do all it can to mitigate the effects.”
