Now that work is underway, Tweedsmuir Community Company are seeking expressions of interest from individuals or groups who are interested in running the new Café/ Bistro called ‘The Wee Crook’, adjacent to the former Crook Inn, Tweedsmuir.
The Café building is community owned and is currently being redeveloped for use as a 40-cover café/ bistro, with capacity for up to 100 people. It will be available for operation from 1st March 2022. The Café has a high profile from the A701 scenic route, with adequate parking and amenities.
The Tweedsmuir Community Company has an open mind at this stage whether the facility will be run through a direct or franchise/ leasehold operation and welcomes proposals and ideas from interested parties.
The ambition is for a facility that will offer an interesting, sustainable and high-quality service to the local community and visitors to the Upper Tweed area. It is envisaged that The Wee Crook will operate as a Café during the daytime and as a Bistro in the evenings. It will serve freshly prepared food and be licensed.
We are looking for preliminary expressions of interest by the end of August 2021.
A further selection process will be undertaken at a later date.
