A Family Owned Company based in Dumfries ‘Armstrong Waste Management’ has recently been bought (January 31st 2020) by Midlothian based family business NWH Group.
Janet Armstrong told DGWGO Business News “We are delighted to announce the business and assets sale of Dumfries-based AWM (incorporating SWWM) to the Scottish-based waste recycler, NWH Group. AWM will retain the soils processing and landfill.
The Glasgow Road site will continue to provide skip hire, trade waste services and materials recycling from its undercover facility, serving the south west of Scotland, the central belt and the north of England.
There will be no change to the AWM and SWWM services or scheduled trade waste runs with all associated staff being retained. Both AWM and SWWM will be re-branded as NWH Group but through a managed process over a period of time. NWH Group aims to identify further growth opportunities for the Dumfries site, and will in turn create a number of new job opportunities in the area.
Originally formed in 1965, Armstrong’s growth has been driven by a family business passion for making things happen.
