Do you want to know how Scottish Water is able to keep the country’s water and waste water network running in the face of more challenging weather conditions and aging infrastructure?
And how the utility continues to deliver high-quality drinking water, uses innovative new methods to tackle flooding and looks for ever more effective ways to engage with customers and communities to enable them shape our future decision making?
Scottish water are inviting people to come to our Annual Consultative Meeting (ACM) in Edinburgh later this month to learn how the publicly owned organisation maintains more than 63,000 miles of water and sewer pipes. Now in its 21sth year the organisation employs more than 4,000 staff countrywide and is working closer than ever with its delivery partners and supply chain to deliver value and become greener. For those that cannot attend in person, there will be the opportunity to join virtually or watch a recording later through our website.
Scottish Water Chief Executive, Douglas Millican, who will be the key speaker at the event, said: “Water is vital to all our lives every day and we put our 2.6 million customers at the heart of all we do. We want to work even closer with our customers and communities to hear their views on the water and waste water networks in their area and help to determine our priorities for future investment.
“In 2021/22 we invested a record £799 million in our assets and services delivering benefits to the public, environment and economy. We also reduced our energy use by 7GWh and began our transformation programme with projects to improve service delivery, cost and carbon efficiency, and customer experience.
“This is our first in-person ACM in three years, due to Covid, and we welcome the opportunity to update customers on our achievements – while also highlighting the challenges we face and how we plan to tackle them. We want our customers to be part of our journey and urge anyone with an interest to come along or ask a question.”
