Queen of the South ladies completed their Biffa SWFL (South) league campaign with a 10-1 away win against Dalbeattie Star Ladies on Sunday. Queens’ completed the league season with a 100% record, scoring 159 goals and conceding only 5. Scorers for Queens: Charlotte Bryden (19), Alexandra Connon (29, 44), Holly Ovens (31), Georgia Wilson (49, 52, 71), Stephanie Grant (63), Jordyn Gallagher (80), Abbie Gray (90). This Sunday, Queens have the chance of moving up to the next tier of Scottish Women’s football, National League 1, when they take on Harmony Row at NWCC, with the prize for the winners being promotion, and the losers taking part in a second playoff for the third available promotion spot. The game is sure to be a hard fought contest, and it is hoped that there will be a large and preferably vocal support to cheer Queens on. Admission is free, and refreshment facilities will be available. If you’ve never watched Queens Ladies in action before, please come along and see what it’s all about.
