Drop-in Sessions For Potential Applicants To The Blackcraig Wind Farm Community Fund

Blackcraig Wind Farm Community Fund are holding a series of drop-in sessions for potential applicants in februray and March. 

The latest funding round opened to applications on Monday 20th January and applications can be submitted until the 27th March 2020. Up to £113,607 will be distributed in the Spring round and groups can apply for grants between £500 and £25,000.

Applications are encouraged from constituted groups based in or primarily benefitting residents in the following community council areas: Balmaclellan, Balmaghie, Carsphairn, Corsock & Kirkpatrick Durham, Crossmichael & District, Dalry, Dunscore, The Royal Burgh of New Galloway and Kells Parish and Parton.

The Fund’s current priorities are to:

Make life better for local residents and visitors by helping to meet their social, emotional, physical and environmental needs and wishes.

Stimulate the feeling of belonging and pride in the area by encouraging people to join in with positive and creative activities

Encourage activity that shares and celebrates the skills, experience and knowledge of local people.

Supports the creation of or maintenance of jobs and employment opportunities within the area

Decisions on grant awards are made by the Glenkens & District Trust, the Board of which comprises representatives drawn from local Community Councils along with some non-Community Council representatives. Representatives of the Trust and the Foundation Scotland Fund Co-Ordinator will be at the on hand at the events to help and advise applicants.

Saturday 8th February, 10-12, Dalry

Monday 24th February, 5.30-7.30, Balmaclellan

Wednesday 26th February, 6-8, Parton

Saturday 29th February, 12-2, Corsock

Wednesday 4th March, 6-8, Dunscore
