Five years after Emma Currie from Dumfries’ last fundraising acheivement of building the first inclusive park in Dumfries in Cargenbridge she is at it again with a new project.
This time Emma is hoping to raise funds to ensure that all 21 primaries in Dumfries and surrounding areas that dont already have a defibrillator get one.
It has been 10 years since wee Emma Ross collapsed in her school playground at Heathhall after suffering a cardiac arrest. This left her with catastrophic brain injuries and devastatingly she passed away 3 years later. Wee Emma is the reason Emma had a Defib fitted in her communities school in cargenbridge in 2017. She is also the inspiration behind Emma Curries new fundraising project to provide the 21 defibrillators to our primary schools.
“They are vital life saving pieces of equipment that you absolutely hope to never use but definitely want at hand if you need one!!”
This is a campaign that has taken off quickly and has soon become a town effort with Emma stating “The support from so many people since this launched has been absolutely phenomenal. From local folk to local businesses It’s clear that this is something most people feel very passionately about. It’s very much a town campaign now and I I couldn’t be anymore proud of our wee town pulling together for such a worthwhile cause”
Emma has since set up a go fund me page for any individual or business who would like to donate. Every pound really would make a difference, if you would like to donate please click HERE
