Kirkcudbright Needs You To Get Involved!

Did you know there are over 50 organisations in Kirkcudbright? From sports clubs to singing; and crafts to community groups, there’s something for everyone.

An event on the 2nd October in Kirkcudbright Parish Church Hall aims to bring together the many and varied groups, clubs and organisations with the people of Kirkcudbright and its surroundings; who may be interested in finding out what groups there are and would enjoy being a part of them.

People can drop in anytime during the event from 4pm – 7.30pm and learn about the fantastic array or organisations on offer to join, get involved with and gain enjoyment from.  There are so many sports groups, literary groups, community organisations and interest groups that you may not know are there; whether you’ve moved to the town recently or lived here all your life!

Each organisation will have a table at the event so you can come and browse the options available.  It’s a one-off opportunity to find out what there is on offer in Kirkcudbright; one not to be missed!

The event is open to everyone.  The targeted range is DG6, including Kirkcudbright itself, as well as Twynholm, Dundrennan and Borgue; but if you live out with this area and are interested in finding out what’s on, please feel free to come along.

There is so much to benefit from joining a new club, group or organisation including meeting new likeminded people, gaining new skills, trying out a new hobby, giving something back to the community and supporting the fantastic range of organisations in Kirkcudbright.

One of the event’s organisers said ‘this is a great opportunity to find out what’s on in the town.  Without one consolidated place to go to find Kirkcudbright’s clubs and groups, we’re hoping this event gives people the information they need and acts as a matchmaker between groups and potential members.  There’s no pressure or pitch at the event, just an opportunity to learn what happens in the town that you may not know about and may be interested in getting involved with.’ The event is being organised by the Kirkcudbright Forum.

If you are a part of an organisation and would like to have a table at the event, either to gain new members, volunteers or raise awareness, please email the Forum at [email protected]
