Santa Brings Holiday Cheer to Children from Dumfries & Galloway National Deaf Children’s Society at Heathhall Garden Centre

Magical 2nd Annual visit to meet Santa at Heathhall Garden Centre Dumfries by the Dumfries & Galloway Group of the National Deaf Children’s Society.

Santa and his Elves at Heathhall Garden Centre welcomed children from Dumfries & Galloway National Deaf Children’s Society. The children who are deaf or hard of hearing were able to enjoy a visit with Santa who has learned some British sign language (BSL) to enable this group of children to experience an inclusive and magical moment.

For the second year, the children were given a private session to meet Santa in his Christmas grotto, chat to him, and tell Santa what was on their Christmas lists with the help of specialists in BSL. It was a truly precious and emotional moment.

Gifts personally selected and donated by Jim & Maria Barr of Heathhall Garden Centre were joyfully opened by excited children.

Dumfries & Galloway Councillor John Denerley President of the Dumfries & Galloway NDCS said “The Santa visit was a heartwarming experience for all involved. Moments like these remind us of the importance of community and the joy we can bring to deaf and  hard of hearing children’s lives, especially during the festive season. We’re grateful to have had the opportunity to participate and look forward to future collaborations that continue to create such magical experiences.”
