New Wind Farm Fund For Community Groups In East Dumfriesshire

Five communities will benefit from the new fund worth over £300,000 a year

The Board of Crossdykes Community Benefits Limited is delighted to announce the opening of its main grants programme which will make awards to charitable projects and activities benefiting communities in the five community council areas of Langholm, Ewes and Westerkirk; Lockerbie; Middlebie & Waterbeck; Eskdalemuir and North Milk.

The fund is provided by Crossdykes WF Limited from its Crossdykes Wind Farm, which was developed by Muirhall Energy. The fund, and distributed by Crossdykes Community Benefits Limited, a charitable company which is run by volunteers drawn from the local communities benefiting from the Fund. The fund is open now with a deadline for applications of 30th October 2022. Decisions will be made in mid December.

Around £240,000 is available each year for the main grants programme, with small grants of under £2,000 accessed via the local Community Councils and individual educational bursaries coming soon. Grants for a wide range of costs are available to eligible community groups of between £2,000 and £30,000 per year, up to a maximum of three years. You can see all the information on how to apply at www.ccbf.org.uk Grant making and administrative support for the Fund is being provided by charity Foundation Scotland’s South of Scotland team, who are ready to help groups with their applications.
