On Saturday 20 November, Old Luce will celebrate safeguarding medical services in Glenluce, after Old Luce Development Trust took ownership of the surgery and an adjacent site earlier in the year.
The celebration event will also give residents of Old Luce the opportunity to have their say on proposed housing options for the site.
Four Winds medical practice is one of the last remaining surgeries in Scotland attached to a residential dwelling and was at risk due to the impending sale of the surgery site. The purchase of the site and adjacent land, following funding from the Scottish Land Fund and the Old Luce Community Fund, completes the first phase of a project to create a Healthy Living Campus in Glenluce, with a new purpose-built GP Surgery, potential for new Lifetime homes, new paths to Balkail Glen and a further area that could be used for further housing development or a community garden.
