Sports Driving Unlimited has won a £1,000 Movement for Good Award from Benefact Group thanks to nominations from supporters.
Sports Driving Unlimited (SDU) has been selected to receive a £1,000 donation as part of Benefact Group’s Movement for Good Awards, which is giving over £1million to charities. This funding will be used to provide disabled people of all ages with the chance to enjoy pony carriage driving through the summer. Members of the public were invited to nominate causes close to their hearts and winners, including SDU were drawn at random.
Sports Driving Unlimited’s chairperson, Brenda Hodgson said “We are thrilled and very grateful that many of our supporters nominated SDU to be one of the winners of this award. We will use the funding to deliver lots more pony carriage driving sessions throughout the summer. All our drivers take part for the thrills and fun of carriage driving and some enjoy the added challenge of competing. This award is a great help in making this happen.”
Mark Hews, Group Chief Executive of Benefact Group, says: “We would like to thank every single person who took the time to nominate a good cause as part of our Movement for Good Awards. Benefact Group is the fourth largest corporate donor in the UK and has an ambition to be the biggest. Owned by a charity, all of its available profits go to good causes, and the more the group grows, the more the group can give. As a company whose purpose is to contribute to the greater good of society, charitable giving is at the heart of what we do. We know that £1,000 can make a huge difference to the incredible work that charities do and we’re looking forward to seeing how this financial boost will change lives for the better.”
Movement for Good is funded by EIO plc, part of the Benefact Group.
